The Power of The Subconscious Mind

From time to time I pull out books to reread that have had a positive impact on me. One of those books is
“The Power of Your Subconscious Mind.” I think the book is truly remarkable and suggest that if you haven’t read it, get a copy as soon as possible.

With the popularity of the book “The Secret,” it is even more inspiring to read ‘Subconscious Mind’ because you get to appreciate the fact that great writing is not always hyped. By that I mean we are blessed to be able to research topics today because of the internet and find so much material. And much of it very good.

But ‘Subconscious mind’ is very much the “scientific” answer to “The Secret” which many people dismiss as hocus-pocus. I highly recommend owning and studying both. You will benefit greatly if you do.

At the end of the day my message is this: the mind is the most powerful weapon human beings have. Any and all material that helps us focus it is a good thing.

We as a nation have gotten away from our spiritual side. If someone does not bring you facts and figures or something you can confirm in a laboratory, we dismiss it. Despite overwhelming evidence that the majority of mind and matter is a total mystery to us.

Understood or not, history has thoroughly documented the power of the mind and astonishing accomplishments of inspired individuals. I don’t know how important it is to understand how something works, as long as we understand what it can do.

What I like most about “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” is that the author, Dr. Joseph Murphy, not only tells you -as much as science can deduce-what your mind is, but tells you what it can do. And as far as anyone knows, we have not yet approached our limits.

Over the years I have applied the techniques in the book. Indeed, I owned a copy when I was a teenager. What I have learned is second nature to me. I remember doing visualization and affirmation exercises to overcome negative thinking, fear, and creative blocks among other things. And like all humans, I am a work in progress, hence the rereading.
